Students craft a hexagon that's all about them, then, put their hexagons together to discover how much they have in common with their peers! Check this out and more get to know you activities in my TpT store!⁣ Cookies! Club Q has been a safe haven for my friends in the LGBTQ community in my hometown for as long as I can remember. I loved this club and it is tragic to hear about the events on Saturday. People acted so bravely in a way that likely saved many lives , but they shouldn’t have had to. Queer people should not have to worry about whether they’ll make it home alive from a fun night out with friends or whether they’ll have to stop an active shooter. I am sickened. When will we stop this? SPOOKY SEASON IS HERE! This is my FAVORITE holiday! I love everything about it - the ghosts, the skeletons, the Edgar Allan Poe! I want to celebrate with my kiddos, but I'm usually mid-way through a unit or racing against the clock ticking toward the end of the quarter. I also usually want to cover my butt in case admin wants to see a lesson plan or know what standard I am teaching! Worst case scenario, I hit play on a spooky, kid-friendly Spotify playlist while working on our regularly scheduled schoolwork ( sad face). Its spooooky season! I love horror and gothic fiction, and I've found a few new titles to add to my class library! How many have you read? Away we go! Ready for King’s version of a fairy tale … Thought I’d get a head start on my answer key for a grammar review packet I cobbled together from old worksheets… and there was a mystery typo. It took all of this to figure out the typo in this self checking grammar worksheet … thank goodness it’s fall break. Need a ready-to-go unit to keep writers engaged during spooky season? Let me help! In this standards-aligned unit, students learn the basics of a great horror story, apply their understanding to a spooky mentor text ( works with any text!) and then celebrate by writing their very own spooky short story!⁣
